United Society of Pastel Artists
This is a great opportunity for you to be involved in a very exciting and happening organization. We are a new Pastel Society in South Orange County, California, designed to promote the awareness of the pastel medium, through education, our newsletter, our website, demonstrations, our artist members, and annual exhibitions.
In May of 2006 , Lyndelle Stonick founded USPA, "The United Society of Pastel Artists" from a group of 20 intial charter members. In June USPA had its first meeting and began forming a board. Our first demonstrator was the renown artist Sally Stand. By November, 2006, ( less than 6 months after the inception), USPA had its first juried show. We exhibited at a recognized gallery, had prominent jurors and over $2000 in awards . The following year we topped that with a juried show at Esther Wells Collections with $4000 worth of awards.
We have regular meetings with demonstrators, critiques, paint-ins, parties. and a newsletter, "The Pastel Palette", along with regular bulletins to keep members updated and our annual juried artshow. To join or for more information, go to our website:
